Fungal Research Laboratory takes part in a separate area dedicated for only fungal studies which is also still integrated with the BSL-2 laboratory facilities.  This unique design of fungal laboratory enables manipulation of all kind of fungi including most of the medically important molds and yeasts. In the fungal research laboratory, studies on antifungal resistance and virulence of yeasts and molds are carried out using biosafety cabinets, automated dilution systems, and incubators. In addition, fungal biofilm resistance and imaging studies could be performed by the help of  fluorescent and phase contrast microscope imaging systems.
