I have completed my PhD studies on the next-generation sequencing and genomics analyses on the notoriously large and complex wheat genome. Following further studies on these genomes, I moved to the computational analysis of mitochondrial genome variants and the association of these variants to mitochondrial disease/fitness in mammalians, in addition to experimental studies on peroxisome biogenesis in mammalian cells. I have a strong interest in genome sequence analyses, comparative genomics and understanding how structural elements in genomes affect phenotypes. At KUISCID, we are currently working on comparative genomics analyses of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates.
