KUISCID attended KLİMİK (Turkish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) which was held in Antalya, 6-9 September with several presentations.
KUISCID Director Prof. Önder Ergönül chaired the session “Antimicrobial Stewardship” and Assoc. Prof. Şiran Keske gave a speech about “The Use of Syndromic Panels” to emphasize the risks that are related to increasing antibiotic resistance and rational solutions for this threat as it appears to become a world-wide public health threat.
In the congress, one of the most outstanding sessions was “The Role of Microbiota in Diseases” and KUISCID Vice Director Prof. Füsun Can gave her speech “Genitourinary System Microbiota and Its Effect On Diseases” and Assoc. Prof. Mert Kuşkucu gave his speech “The Role of Microbiota on Neurodegenerative Diseases” to discuss the potential role of microorganisms which are highly associated with our body.
KUISCID researchers Dr. Pelin İrkören, Dr. Lal Sude Gücer, Dr. Yağmur Abik and Dr. Oğuz Usta gave oral and poster presentations and Post-doctoral researcher Cansel Vatansever was awarded with the 3rd oral presentation award with her presentation “Molecular mechanisms of cefiderocol resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii”.
