Caution: Tick Cases Increase in Summer

Ticks are external parasites, living by feeding on the blood of mammals. The diversity of our country allows different tick species to exist and spread. Warm weather worsens the scenario and triggers the increase of Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) cases as well. The disease has a very high fatality, if not rapidly diagnosed. KUISCID Director Prof. Önder Ergönül evaluates the current situation of CCHF cases.
