Caution: Mosquitos Can Be Dangerous For Zika Virus Spread

Zika virus is transmitted to humans by Aedes mosquito bite. Mosquitoes leave their eggs within flower vases, animal feeding pots and stagnant water-sides to multiply and infect hosts which spreads the virus. What precautions can we take to protect ourselves from Zika virus?

What Should Be The Isolation Time For COVID-19 (Omicron)?

KUISCID researchers have pointed out that the cessation of isolation and current practice that ends the isolation in case of no shown symptoms should be reconsidered. Besides, especially for the healthcare workers who are in close contact with infected patients, the isolation duration should be extended to 10 days according to the findings of our researchers that is already published in the Clinical Microbiology and Infection Journal.

We Are Chasing After The Fatal Pseudomonas aeruginosa Infection

KUISCID researchers, including mostly our PhD students, have gathered up the story of the timeline for their TUBITAK 1001 project, “Pyoverdine siderophore and macrophage inflammatory response in Pseudomonas aeruginosa ST235 high risk clone”.

A Spectecular Lecture: Ethics in Infectious Diseases

European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Workshop for young scientists was held in Rome this year. KUISCID director Prof. Önder Ergönül gave a lecture on “Ethics in infectious diseases” in the workshop. Prof. Ergönül emphasized the importance of patient health priority to young scientists.
