COVID-19: Behind the Vaccination

Our researchers have completed their study on immune response after the vaccination, with the topic being one of the pivotal pieces of the COVID-19 puzzle. Findings of the study have been published in “Allergy” Journal, one of the prestigious journals of European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).

PUBLICATION

The Most Cited Article for the Last 3 Years

Prof. Önder Ergönül’s study “COVID-19, SARS and MERS: are they closely related?” was published in Clinical Microbiology and Infection (CMI) Journal in March 2020, before the first COVID-19 case in Turkey was reported. The publication has become the most cited article over the last 3 years.

COVID-19 Guidelines

Two guidelines for COVID-19 pandemic were published by European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) with KUISCID Director Prof. Önder Ergönül and Vice Director Prof. Füsun Can being in the editorial board. Such guidelines are critical for rapid diagnostics and effective treatment.

International Congress Presentations

European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Congress was held in Lisbon this year with 58 out of 105 abstracts accepted from Turkey. KUISCID researchers attended the congress with 12 different poster presentations with all being accepted. We congratulate our researchers.

We have organised a meeting at European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) with our advisory board members Prof. Eskild Peterson, Prof. Murat Akova, and Prof. Nicola Petrosillo in order to discuss our recent national and international collaborations.

Is the Pandemic Over?

The last scientific commity meeting was held on April, 26th and it was declared that the obligation for mask use has come to an end. Mask use is still mandatory in hospitals and public transportation until the case number drops down to one thousand. Following these changes, what will be the next? What should we pay attention?

Scientific publication: Peer Review Training

The Editorial board of IDCM (Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology) Journal, which is published by KLİMİK (Turkish Society for Clinical Microbiology), organised a Peer-review Training Course for successful scientific publication on 9 April 2022. The course was hosted by KUISCID with the aim of training researchers for accurate peer review as well as guidance for successful publication steps.
