What is a Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory?

In Biosafety level 3 laboratories, researchers study infectious agents or toxins that may be transmitted through the air and cause potentially lethal infections. There are currently no prevention or treatment strategies available for most of the microorganisms which are being included in BSL-3 laboratories.

BSL-3 laboratories are few in number in Turkey. The research being conducted here, in our laboratory, is at a level that will significantly contribute to public health parameters.
