Science Fair in KUISCID

KUISCID organised a COVID-19 Symposium for a detailed discussion of experiences, scientific outputs, and future aspects of the pandemic. It was held as a joint panel including the scientific research of Koç University Hospital, American Hospital, and Koç University scientists as well as the administrative problems faced during the overall process. The symposium was of three sections: In the first session, outcomes of the pandemic were discussed. The second session was for institutional experiences. The third session was devoted to scientific researches.

Visit of Prof. Moshe Arditi

Prof. Moshe Arditi, the executive vice-chair of the Department of Pediatrics for Research and the director of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology Division at Cedars-Sinai, visited KUISCID and held a fruitful talk with all our researchers regarding the future collaborations as well as the infrastructure and workflow of the center. We thank Prof. Arditi for his kind visit.

Management of COVID-19 Cases in Kosova

KUISCID researchers had visited the doctors of Pristine University Hospital and discussed the COVID-19 epidemiology, treatment options and intensive care unit management  with doctors from 7 different locations of Kosovo. Through this collaboration, the article “Management of COVID-10 Cases in Kosovo ” was published in IDCM (Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology) which is a KLİMİK Journal.

Congratulations to Our Graduates

Our master and PhD students attended their graduation ceremony on Saturday, 25th June. Despite all the difficulties of the pandemic, they successfully defended their thesis studies and received their diploma. We congratulate our new PhDs: Cansel Vatansever and Bahar Madran and our new Msc researchers Zeynep Ece Kuloğlu, Sevgi Öztürk and Rojbin El. 

We congratulate Cansel Vatansever received the “Outstanding Graduate Student” award. Congratulations to all of our graduates.


Acıbadem University International Medical Students Research Award (AIMS 2022)

Our third-year medical student Selin Kolsuz was awarded 2nd place with Acıbadem University International Medical Student Research Award, for her study “Iron uptake mechanisms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa ST235 high-risk clone”. We congratulate our researcher.
